Gardening

Planning a garden, planting the seeds and watching them grow give kids a sense of purpose and responsibility. Making sure that the plants get enough water and sun also fosters mindfulness.

Most importantly, the self-esteem a child gets from eating food they have grown themselves is priceless. We enjoyed growing carrots, kale and beetroot this year, as well as keeping the garden beautiful with flowers all year round.

These are some easy to grow vegetables:

• Salad Leaves with a fantastic range of textures and flavours.
• Spring onions and Radishes.
• Potatoes.
• Peas.
• Mint.
• Broad Beans.
• Runner Beans.
• Onions and Garlic.
